They're East Coast through-and-through,Massachusetts interior designer Liz McCabe says of the homeowners and their children. So the house reflects that very traditional vibe, but with fresh elements of the West.

While hunting for my favorite summer entertaining items for the Perspectives section of the July-August issue of New England Home came across many fun goodies for the bar but had to limit my selection to just one (you can read what I picked here). Fortunately, I can share some favorite cocktail essentials that didn't make their way into the magazine, but are fabulous nonetheless!

There's perhaps no more perfect setting for a summer home than on the tranquil outskirts of Edgartown, perched high on a hill with an unimpeded view of Nantucket Sound. One Boston area couple found just such a parcel in 2006, and this particular place had somewhat storied origins: Steven Spielberg had called a cabin on the property home during the 1974 production of Jaws. But the new owners have two children and were looking for a haven tailor-made for them.
